INTRODUCTION 

Hi there! This is a user-friendly version of the Social Business Innovation Lab (SBI-LAB) Open Call 2024 Terms and Conditions, created from a partnership between Social Business Earth (the “Partner”) and Area 302 (collectively the “Program Partners”). Below, you will find a brief summary of all of the most important things you need to know before applying. 

DATA PROTECTION 

Data protection is managed according to the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) issued by the Swiss Confederation.

When you submit your application to the SBI-LAB Open Call 2024, you acknowledge that your personal information included in the application may be shared among the Program Partners.

You further acknowledge that the Program Partners may also share some of your information with their third-party service providers for purposes exclusively related to the execution of the Open Call, the Investment Readiness Program and the Social Business Conference (SBC) 2025, such as analyzing your project, sending you communications regarding the Open Call, notifying the startups that passed the initial preselection and the final selection to participate in the SBC 2025. You are responsible for the accuracy of all the data you provide. 

Some of these items might be optional, whereas some others might be required to proceed with your application. 

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS  

The SBI-LAB Open Call 2024 is open to individuals based anywhere in the world who must be 18 or older when applying. Entries must be submitted in English and you are not allowed to submit more than one application.  

Employees (and their children and grandchildren) of Social Business Earth, Area 302 and SBI-LAB, or any of their respective affiliates and participating advertising and promotion agencies are NOT eligible to apply to the SBI-LAB Open Call. 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY   

By submitting an Entry, you certify and warrant that your Entry is original and that you are the sole and exclusive owner and right holder of the submitted Entry and that you have the right to submit the Entry for the Open Call. Further, you agree not to submit any Entry that (1) infringes any third-party proprietary, intellectual property, industrial property, personal rights or other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligation; or (2) otherwise violates applicable law in any jurisdiction in the world. 

COMMUNICATIONS RIGHTS  

By participating in the SBI-LAB Open Call 2024, you acknowledge that if you will be selected as a finalist to pitch at the Social Business Conference 2025, the Program Partners have the right to share information, which will be agreed with you first, (including your name, and the name and some details of your project) with journalists, via social media, on Program Partners’ website, or in Program Partners’ publications.

The video link you submit in the Open Call application will only be visible to Program Partners’ administrators and evaluators, it will not be shared publicly.
