Gianluca Colombo – Esteemed Board Member Emeritus

With deep appreciation and respect, we honor the memory of Professor Gianluca Colombo (1953–2024), a visionary leader, trusted advisor, and cherished member of the Social Business Earth Board of Directors. Gianluca was Full Professor of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) from 2001 to 2023, and Professor Emeritus thereafter. With great competence and passion, he held several key roles at USI over the years: Dean of the Faculty, Director of the Institute of Management, Director of the Master in Management, and Founder and Director of the Executive MBA, launched in 2010. His leadership helped shape generations of students and entrepreneurs, always with a focus on integrity, excellence, and innovation. At Social Business Earth, Gianluca played a pivotal role in advancing our mission to develop sustainable entrepreneurial models in Switzerland and globally. As a Board Member, he was a steadfast supporter, mentor, and source of inspiration, contributing not only with his deep expertise but with a rare generosity of spirit. His belief in social innovation, his ability to connect ideas with action, and his encouragement in key moments of our growth journey have left a permanent mark on our organization and on all of us who had the privilege of working alongside him. We will remember Gianluca not only for his outstanding professional accomplishments but for his humanity, his wisdom, and the sincere dedication he brought to every initiative. His legacy lives on in the values he championed and in the many lives he influenced for the better. We are deeply grateful for his contribution. He will be greatly missed.
