Samantha Caccamo – Founder and CEO


Born in Bologna, Italy, Samantha Caccamo holds a BA in Journalism with a Minor in Asian Studies from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. She became interested in Grameen’s Microcredit and Social Business after reading Professor Muhammad Yunus’ books and attending some of his lectures in Europe. She then began to actively support his work and his new model of capitalism based on microcredit and social business to eradicate poverty. She visited Bangladesh several times to participate in intensive training programs at Grameen Bank and immerse herself in the Bangladeshi culture. She learned face to face the benefits of Professor Yunus’ methods in the field to empower the poor and build an inclusive system for them which provides not only microcredit loans without collateral but also healthcare, education, housing, technology and above all the chance to live a dignified life. She has over ten years experience working for NGOs and private companies.

Renato Ferri Pacini – Associate Partner and Senior Consultant


Founder of Excellence Consulting, Milan, and head of Practices Insurance and Finance. More than 10 years of experience in management consulting at major financial, banking and insurance institutions. Assisted large national and international groups in the study, setting and operational implementation of strategic projects and developed specific skills in Insurance and Banking. Degree in Economics, Bocconi University, Milan.


Marta Okos – Partnerships and Fundraising

Marta was born and raised in Miskolc, Hungary where she also received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a specialization in event organizing. Thanks to her previous internships she has experience in the non-profit world. She started her collaboration at SBE as she is very eager to improve herself professionally in the social business sector. She is passionate about travelling and getting to know new cultures. She enjoys the opportunity to work in an international environment and she finds pleasure in helping people in need through sustainable models.


Sara Schneider – Web & Social Media Manager

Sara Schneider was born in Sorengo, Switzerland. She was raised in Naples, Italy until the age of 8 and then moved to America with her mother where she stayed for 10 years. She returned to Switzerland and decided to attend a university. After 3 years she received her diploma in Digital Design with a specialization in Web Design and Graphics. For the next 6 months Sara took part in an internship with the company Sketchin and also worked on private projects. After these 6 months Sara left for a year of study in Copenhagen, Denmark where she studied to become a counselor with a non-profit association. Now she is back home in Lugano and has started her collaboration at SBE as she is very eager to gain experience in the social business sector and contribute her skills as web designer and graphics artist and her passion for world betterment. Sara has had also many experiences in the non-profit, humanitarian field and has gone to Haiti and Costa Rica for 6 months to help and offer relief and has contributed to many social and community betterment programs in her hometown for years.


Pietro Cesaro – Financial Analyst

Pietro was born in Legnago, near Verona. His curiosity brought him to Lugano, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at USI. During his studies, he went abroad for one semester, at the Universidad Carlos Tercero of Madrid, where he encountered different cultures from all over the world. He started his collaboration with SBE in September, 2016 and is currently he working on his Master in Economic Policy. He became interested in social businesses from knowing the founder and CEO of SBE, moreover he has always been interested in the dynamic of microcredit. “One day our grandchildren will go to museums to see what poverty was like” is the famous quote of Muhammad Yunus. This made him passionate about the potentiality of the economics knowledge applied to the social sphere.


Katia Vitale – Freelance Graphic Designer

Katia is a Swiss graphic designer with an International reputation. She has developed Social Business Earth’s logo and the Social Business Conference logo. She worked on many projects for Vogue magazine. In addition, she is a talented painter with a focus on non figurative art. She works for SBE on call whenever we need to develop brochures, event programs and other materials.

Isidora Turnaj Elhart – Financial Advisor

Isidora Turnaj Elhart

Isidora was born in Novi Sad, Serbia. She holds a Master’s degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Informatics. Her main interests are focused on mathematical models in finance. In the world where almost half of the population lives on less than $2.5 per day, poverty remains an unsolved issue. Isidora believes that social businesses can contribute to solving social and environmental problems and can establish social and economic stability. Isidora was CFO at SBE for nearly two years, until August 2015.


Bill Barber – Social Business Advisor

Bill Barber

Bill Barber is an impact investor, social business mentor and advisor. He is also a member and advisor of the Purpose Investment Network. To date he has trained hundreds of early and growth-stage start-ups, social businesses, investors, entrepreneurs and corporations seeking the selection of global social ventures. Mr. Barber is a 6-time California entrepreneur. He has worked closely with many private, impact and social ventures as CEO, investor, board member and advisor for over 25 years. In addition, he has participated in the private funding of startups and growth-stage ventures with angels, VCs and corporate investors. He has been teaching internationally on the topics of entrepreneurship, innovation, environmental management, decentralization of production and social business in the US, Israel, and Europe.


Daniel Goldstein – Social Business Fund Advisor


Daniel Goldstein, since 1994, has been advising UHNW families across Europe and in the United States on their liquid investments, businesses, structuring, direct real estate investments, family dynamics, yachts, concierge services and philanthropy. For 15 years, he was director of a global Single Family Office principally located in Europe and with activities ranging across Europe, the US, Africa and India. Before, he was the investment analyst on a two-person team managing a $1.25B portfolio for a US family foundation. He has spoken at and Chaired numerous family office, investment, family business and philanthropy events around the world. He is a founding Board member of several international non-profit organisations.Before entering the family office field, Daniel worked in finance in both the private and public sectors in the US. He graduated from Colgate University and earned two Master’s degrees, an MBA in Finance and an MS in Science and Technology Studies, both with honours.


Sabri Nazir – Translator – Bangladesh


Sabri is our intern on location in Bangladesh. He was born and raised in Bangladesh and he is our official translator from Bangla to English. He is a true believer in poverty eradication through social business. Himself and a few friends offer computer training to the poor in Dhaka in a computer centre they established. In addition, Sabri works as a part-time interpreter in the International Department of Grameen Bank.
