Samantha Caccamo – Founder and CEO

Born in Bologna, Italy, Samantha Caccamo holds a BA in Journalism with a Minor in Asian Studies from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. She became interested in Grameen’s Microcredit and Social Business after reading Professor Muhammad Yunus’ books and attending some of his lectures in Europe. She then began to actively support his work and his new model of capitalism based on microcredit and social business to eradicate poverty. She visited Bangladesh several times to participate in intensive training programs at Grameen Bank and immerse herself in the Bangladeshi culture. She learned face to face the benefits of Professor Yunus’ methods in the field to empower the poor and build an inclusive system for them which provides not only microcredit loans without collateral but also healthcare, education, housing, technology and above all the chance to live a dignified life. She has over ten years experience working for NGOs and private companies

Bryce Davis
Project Assistant

Bryce Davis received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, USA by undergoing majors in both Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Economics and Finance. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Economics degree, major in Management, from Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. He has had the opportunity to be employed by a variety of different industries with the most recent being an economic development corporation. He has also coordinated many different non-profit initiatives for various organizations and missions.
He has always believed in Free Market Principles and Social Business is another way to improve prosperity, by eradicating social problems, through the positive power of business.
Maria Luisa Vassallo
Project Assistant and Researcher

Maria Luisa was born and raised in Palermo, Italy, where she graduated in Economics. She decided to move to Milan where she is currently in the second year of her Master in Management at the “Università Cattolica”.
She worked as a volunteer in Ecuador and this inspired her to improve her skills concerning social issues. She is enthusiastic about the idea of social business as a real opportunity to solve social problems.
Isabella Mocci
Project Assistant and Researcher

Isabella was born in Como, Italy. She graduated in Economics, Finance and Management at the University La Sapienza of Rome (Italy) and currently she is concluding her Master’s degree in Management at Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland.
Thanks to Muhammad Yunus’ books, her interest in social business grew and she decided to work in this field. She feels that individuals must be responsible and aware that the biggest social problems can be solved and enhanced through the implementation of a social business model. Currently, she is working on a research paper on social business in Switzerland that will be issued by Social Business Earth.
Dragana Stajic
Fundraising Assistant and Website Administrator

Dragana Stajic holds a BSc. degree in Economics from the University of Nis, Serbia and a MSc. degree in Management from the University of Lugano, Switzerland. Her master thesis investigated on the exploitation of ICT innovations in multinational corporations (MNCs) and the effects of related decision-making right at a subsidiary level. As a part of her thesis research, she conducted a study involving more than 30 MNC companies operating in Canton Ticino, Switzerland. Through that study as well as her previous work, training, and volunteering Dragana has become fully aware of the importance of social responsibility of individuals in today’s fragile society.
Nnamani Emmanuel Nnamani
Budget Analyst
Emmanuel is from Enugu, Nigeria. He holds Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. His terminal research project was on The Problems and Prospects of the Application of Capital Reconstruction in Nigeria. He is currently attending an MSc in Management at Universita della Svizzera italiana, Lugano, Switzerland. He previously worked as Manager and Accountant at Da Lumen Productions and was Accounting instructor in his free time.

Adina Moldovan
Marketing Assistant

Adina is a Romanian national living in Switzerland. She will soon conclude her Master’s degree in Management at Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI). She is passionate about cultural diversity and has lived in the United States, Belgium and Spain.
During the Social Business Conference 2012 in Lugano, Adina was struck by the simple, yet powerful concept of social business. The event inspired her to join Social Business Earth team with great enthusiasm.
Katia Vitale
Graphic Designer

Katia is a Swiss graphic designer with an International reputation. She has developed Social Business Earth’s logo and the Social Business Conference logo. She worked on many projects for Vogue magazine. In addition, she is a talented painter with a focus on non figurative art. She works for SBE on call whenever we need to develop brochures, event programs and other materials.

Long distance Intern in Bangladesh
Sabri Nazir

Sabri is our intern on location in Bangladesh. He was born and raised in Bangladesh and he is our official translator from Bangla to English. He is a true believer in poverty eradication through social business. Himself and a few friends offer computer training to the poor in Dhaka in a computer centre they established. In addition, Sabri works as a part-time interpreter in the International Department of Grameen Bank.
